Spiritual support to elderly & disability persons

$2,345 of $18,000 raised

Who will grant it to me to find peace in you? Who will grant me this grace that you should come into my heart and inebriate it, enabling me to forget the evils that beset me and embrace you, my only good? (St. Augustine). Equality Approach Uganda, noted the imbalance in access to basic services among the beneficiaries, and in our little efforts, continues to strive to bridge.

We believe, the greatest gift one can give is access to one’s creator, the author of life and everything that is and was. Faced with challenges of various nature, we have witnessed great relieve upon many of our burdened beneficiaries after access to spiritual support. More confidence as fear part ways, ability to appreciate life and the surrounding, growth in faith through prayers, with many testifying of God’s greatness in their lives. Our (to be), prayer Centre, though at its initial state, have seen neighboring communities joining in prayers during our weekly Thursdays prayer meetings and Holy Cross exultation. We have continued to partner with care givers; the Catholic parishes of our beneficiaries to ease access to the sacrament of baptism, confirmation, holy marriages, and Eucharistic celebrations among others. Where accesses to the priest have been a challenge, we have encouraged the holy rosary, the novenas, and prayer groups with worship, bible sharing and community spiritual journeying.

On Pentecost Sunday of 2021, we had 7 of our vulnerable couples joining in holy matrimony, 1 celebrated Golden Marriage annivery, 10 adults and 24 infant baptism, 120 holy communion  and 7 confirmation in Immaculate heart of Mary-Padibe, sub-Parish of Holy Cross- Oboko.

In yet another celebration on Pentecost of 2023, in Otuke district, in partnership with Queen of Peace Parish, we witnessed 30 couples of our beneficiaries join in Holy matrimony, and 70 adults of diverse background, came back to commune at the Holy table of the Lord.
